Mono-Printing Gel Plate Workshop

Gel plate printing is a mono-printing technique that is fun to do easy to learn. In this workshop we will use playful intuitive approach to mark making to develop textures and images that can be used for collage, scrapbooking, gift wrapping and as finished works of art. No previous art experience necessary. All supplies included to make a set of 8 original 5” x 7” notecards. Full payment of $50. required to reserve your spot. Space is limited.

About the Instructor: Tara Riley holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After a career designing fashion accessories and theatrical costumes, Tara prioritized raising a family and worked part-time at her art. She received a MA in Art Education with a K-12 Art teaching certificate in 2010.Tara briefly taught art in public schools. Her family grown; she took the leap of faith to working exclusively as an artist in fall of 2022. Today, her scarves are in private collections throughout North America and Europe. What to Expect: Learn  mono-print technique on a gel plate. Experiment with a variety of tools to create texture, pattern, stamp and masking, stencil designs. Each student will create an original set of 8 printed notecards to take home (with envelopes). All materials included.
